The LBCC men's soccer team is preparing for its first match with mostly new players, "We only have 2 or 3 returning players. We are trying to get the new ones on the right path" said Brent Whitfield, assistant coach of the team and current player for Hollywood United Hitmen.

The Laney College football is now an "A" team. The Eagles hope that their season does better than the movie.

Laney has moved up to the A division of the Northern California Football Association as a result of the 16-6 record in the last two years and the Golden Gate Conference championship in 2009.
